Windshield Washer Warning Light

I'm getting a washer fluid warning, even though I have filled it to the top.
Is anyone having this problem? I have coded the headlight washer off, not sure if that is the case.

For me it was due to the weather here in Sweden causing a lot of issues, The first time it happened i topped the liquid in the container, The Used a lot of the liquid on the windshield and it reseted it self somehow and the warning dint appear for a while, Then came a couple of weeks with -6-9c during night time and then during daytime it was around 4-8c so it freaked out again. Then i had it replaced.

What type of washer fluid are you using? Don't know how BMW does it but some of the VW folks have had issues with certain brands (RainX?) messing up the level sensor.

Pretty sure all the dealers do refill it for free, but I mean personally I wouldn't go to the dealer just to refill washer fluid either.

Well, I noticed something, the light was coming on during really cold temps in my area.
When used the washer, I noticed my headlight washer never came on. Maybe due to temps? Then a couple of days ago when it got warmer around upper 30's. The headlight was sprayed. Every since then, the light haven't come on.

I spoke too soon, the light came back on tonight. I don't know why using different fluid will upset the leveling.

The washer fluid level sensor is a capacitive sensor with contactless measurement through two small lances. The sensor is part of the washer fluid tank. RainX washer fluid is known to damage this sensor which will require its replacement.

Just us the cheap blue washer fluid you can get at the gas station and it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, you are correct, I did end up putting in the cheap blue washer and the light did go away.
