Xenon - Auto leveling

Good morning everyone,

I just noticed that my Xenons on my E92 2007 do not auto level. That means when I start the engine the xenons just stay still. Is that normal?
Or do I have not auto leveling?

No I do not think so. But should not Xenons always auto level themselves?
I bought the car second hand and it was always like that.

You have to keep the light swith on auto position (left) to auto level. If you turn them on manually to the right they just turn on and don't move.

The switch is kept on auto. I switched it back from manually to auto but they still do not move.

Xenons will always auto level as it is a legal requirement. If you also have adaptive lights then these will only function (turn left or right) if in auto mode.

I'd expect to see your lights dip down and then raise up when you power them up, if they are not doing this then I've read in previous posts it can indicate an electrical issue with the levelling system - others have had success with cleaning the connections onto the levelling sensors on the suspension (one at the front and one at the rear).

Another common problem is the headlamp inner becoming disconnected from the levelling motor inside the headlight - I found I had this on one of my headlights yesterday, however the light still moved up and down on startup but the lights could freely 'bounce' to a higher beam position whilst driving over bumps in the road. Right pain in the arse to sort out as it required the headlight to be removed from the car, and this is probably the worst car design I've known for the difficulty in getting the lights out!
