JB4 install question
Working on installing JB4 (Stage 2) on a N55 E92 motor and got a bit confused about the guide. Is TMAP sensor the same thing as MAF sensor? Based on the locations it looks like Plug #1 goes into the ChargePipe MAF and Plug#2 goes to the airbox MAF.
Also, the guide says "Plug 3 (purple) is no longer used for any application". Just want to confirm that the stage 2 does come with the extra plug and wondering what you guys do with it -- zip-tie them to the cowling or leave it hanging? Finally, can't seem find the boost solenoid plug. Does anyone have any alternative pictures by any chance? Thanks! |

Not sure about the purple plug, but the sensor in the CP is the TMAP sensor and the sensor on the intake is the MAF sensor

This may be obvious but have you read the install guide on the Berger Tuning website? It pretty much spells it out step by step

Josboti,
the install guide on BMS site is the one i'm basing this off of. This is what it says: "Plug 3 (purple) is no longer used for any application". "The boost solenoid is located on the passenger side of the engine and can be tricky to reach" Just wanted some clarification listed in my OP -- since this is dealing with sensitive electronics I want to be sure before moving forward. |

got the JB4 installed. Couple notes that might be helpful for others:
- solenoid is a bit tricky to find, easiest way to spot it is to stand by passenger wheel well and look past the coolant cap, it'lll be directly in your line of sight under the intake. When inserting the JB4 wire, the silver locking lever should be on the side facing the grill. - Plug #3 -- there was a small cutout under the intake MAF sensor (Plug#2), I just stuffed the loose wires in that hole. - CAN wires -- they are hidden under the felt tape. That part was in the BMS guide, I missed it the first time reading it. The plastic sleeve leaves a black gunk on the wires, so make sure to clean it well before wrapping the JB4 (also noted in the guide). - be careful putting the hood cowl back on -- the leverage generated from the piece makes it really easy to break off the plastic retainer tabs when putting it back in. |

correct.. the 2nd plug shouldnt go into the intake plug.. there is a plug under the plastic cover thing thats shown in the website.. a little tricky but once you get it, its not bad..
