Paint Correction.

SO, ive been seeing these brand new M4's going into detail for full paint correction. Considering the fact that the car is brand new, what flaws are they exactly trying to perfect?

Those swirls are also called holograms. That is partially what they correct. Good paint correction requires a high degree of skill and concentration, but done properly, it really can transform the look of a car by dealing with (amongst other things); hard water marks, etching caused by bird muck or fly squash, swirl marks, scratches and fading.

For the vast majority of cars, paint correction really can make a substantial difference and will completely remove or significantly reduce most marks. Not only this, but the resulting finish will have an amazing gloss, depth of reflection and slickness.

I don't think you will get as dramatic a result with mineral white vs a darker color. Let us know your opinion when it's done.

Very rarely do you not have to do any type of paint correction on a new vehicle. A clay is always 100% in order, but depending on the dealer, a light polish will be needed. Sometimes you'll have to bring out the big guns, which is unfortunate. My last car really go the job done with a finishing polish which I followed up with a sealant and wax job.

Paint correction and White. I would not even bother. White is a very bland, low shine car. You probably wont see much difference for your money. Not a knock by the way. Just i have been detailing cars for almost 8 years now and i advice even my own customers that they will see little to no change in White paint. Blue, Black, Red and Grey are my favorite colours to work with.

Any photos showing before and after? trying to figure out to what extent of swirl marks would require a paint correction

So if you can't notice it why pay for it? Generally these services are easily over $500. If it isn't noticeable to you it would be money wasted. It's not something NEEDED, paint doesn't need anything more than regular waxing and maybe decontamination/ claying to keep looking fresh in terms of pop.

I did a full correction on my old white S4, took it off the road for 3 days since I did it during the week. When I was done it was prob 90-95% free of imperfections. Honestly just looked like a nice wax job. On the M3 I took delivery with all the paint protection and told the dealer not to detail it. It had minor scratches, i'm undecided if I want to correct it this year or next.

I have a fair few before and after pics of paint correction on lots of colours. But as i said white is unnoticeable to even trained eyes. It is a very bland colour that loses imperfection and in turn the lines of a car which is why personally i would never buy a white car. It just is not something i am interested in, Nor do i like. White to me has been done to death.

by no means do i intend to insult any white car owners and apologise if anyone is offended.

Very minor. To the point where I wouldn't be surprised if it was a result of the waterless wash I had just done. It was amazing to take off all the plastic, felt like the best christmas present ever.

I have excellent vision, and have owned many white cars. I can tell when a white car hasn't been cared for. It's not very hard to see...

neglected and cared for are different. I'm just saying that a white car that has been clayed a waxed will look similar to a fully corrected one until you get up close to the paint.

For paint correction issues on new-almost new. All you have to do is call BMWNA.. I had significant swirl marks, the rep met me at a local dealership.. Easiest conversation ever.

10 minutes and I was scheduled at a body shop to completely reploish the whole car. BMW certified repair center.

On a BSM M4 ... AMAZING difference.

Cost $0.00 (plus the $79,800 window sticker price)

Can't understand why people are paying for this service, it's a warrantee issue.

It's that easy.

If anyone is in Maryland, PM me. I'll walk you through it.
