Yup, same here. I think the 318d drives realy well. Here we have speedingcameras on almost every road ...

By the way, verry nice car Kiwirobbie. If you have crappy road in Norway, get rid of those runflats !!

Keep us informed about the car !

In Poland we can remap the engine for 450 EUR only.
I think it is worth it as you can feel the difference immediately and fuel consumption stays the same and sometimes goes even lower.

Car dealer takes more than 1000 EUR so it is not worth it however than your guarantee stays without any problem.
If you do it in any tune garage than you might loose your guarantee but it is up to a dealer.
Sometime thay do not care if it was done but it depends from each dealer separately.

For Belgium if you want to have it chipped look at www.kempower.be or www.autotuneheinz.be
It's well worth the money, power difference is unbelievable
(I went from 163HP and 340Nm to 205HP and 440Nm on my 320D)
and it's using less diesel (about 0.3l/100km less)

What options do you have? I think the 18" runflats aren't too bad for Belgian roads, had more problems with my E46 and M-kit than the E90

I think 318d is a very fine car with a very capable engine, especially the new 143hp version.

And Kiwirobbie's E91 it's just absolutely delicious, great choice the M-Pack.

I 'm considering a 318d, too. But i 'll wait for the LCI model.

So you guys think you 're high on taxes?

In Portugal it's like this:

318d Touring
Base price: 27.448,51 €
Taxes: 4.696,25 € + 6.751,24 € (VAT)
Total: 38.900,00 €

320d Touring
Base price: 29.878,43 €
Taxes: 5.076,25 € + 7.341,32 € (VAT)
Total: 42.300,00 €

plus a 175,00 € annual circulation tax

Prices with virtually no opcional equipment.

How is it in your country?

The new one 143hp and 300 Nm should go on close 160 - 170hp and 400 Nm
Old engine should be close to 150 hp >350 Nm.
But it all depends from the tune garage.
If you are from Belgium you should go to www.kempowed.be as Mantis64 says.
It is a good palce to remap your engine.
I know some persons have been there and are really satisfied.
Patman from e90post has been there for instance and has got 206hp/425Nm.

He he box from Hartge and AC Schnitzer - why to pay $$$$ for something that is not even to good for your car....

First of all box is an universal engine remap which can be pluged in any of the car with the same engine.
It is not very good as engine remap should be done for each car separatly what can only keep its engine in perfect conditions.
We have had many examples of engine beeing broken after using boxes for engine remap.

I would suggest individual engine remap for your car in some tune garage not even talking to BMW dealer. They will not find it out.

I've never heard of any engine damage from chipping or a tuning box?!?
But there's one problem with the new 318d and 320d, BMW is using a new ECU (Bosh EDC17) and it has some kind of encryption so the tuners are unable to modify it (yet)

There is no problem with remap of computer.

As it comes to boxes and different kind of universal chips they can brake turbo or clatch if Nm will be to high.
