Putting in an order!

Closing a deal which I think is pretty good:

Donington Grey with Aragon Brown interior, fully loaded except rear-seat entertainment.

Detailed build/production number to follow!

Great! Congrats!! I did not select rear seat entertainment either. Seems like no one needs it.

Congratulations! But which one did you go for? X5M or X6M?
The DG is a very popular color as it seems and it goes perfectly with the brown interior.

X5M - more understated and I can't get over the X6M rear. Once the LCI taillights come out, maybe more tolerable.

Hi all. I placed an order with my dealer on the 3rd week of January and I still have no allocation or build date. Does this sound reasonable? BMWNA has been of little help as well. No one can tell me when my dealer
Will get an allocation. Getting very angry.

Thanks.

It's a new car with thin allocation. It'll be a while. No-one can tell you anything.... your dealer knows when they get their allocation updates for the following month though, so they likely know it definitely won't be built in April at this point. You can ask what month they've got confirmed allocation for, and when their next update is.

I placed by order in late November. In February my dealer managed to get allocation from another dealer. My car was built two weeks ago, and is sitting waiting for "Quality Check".

If your dealer is so inclined, they can "trade" allocation with another dealership nationally who has one. If they want your business, they'll do this if you ask them to..

My dealer talked to his BMW Rep for logistics in scheduling a specific production week, and then traded for an allocation with another dealer. Process took a little over a month, as when I ordered, allocations for that month were gone, and we needed to wait for the next month's to come out.

Thanks. I am just trying to see if others are in the same boat. I did have an order in late last year but my dealer gave my allocation to someone who paid more. Such is life.

Feel your pain

I ordered my X6M on December 28th. Dealer had to trade their X5M allocation to another dealer to pull it off.

I got my Tracking number within a few weeks, but it didn't start production until two weeks ago. I may get it next week.

Hang in there!

BMW Seattle just added a sweet Donington Grey / Black X5M to their inventory..... I've worked with them a lot, and they're not the obnoxious "You pay over MSRP" type.

Happy to refer my CA if anyone's interested in bypassing the wait ;p

Similarly if anyone is looking in NJ area, I can recommend mine. They gave me a good discount on my X6M and I am going to order my wife an M4 from them also at a discount.

Congrats on the car! I am just wondering how much discount did you get? You can send PM if you prefer along with the name of the dealer. Thank you ...

Bridgewater BMW
Rob Hoffman was my CA and his boss, with BMW for about 30 years, is named Peter Provost.

I built the X6M with EVERYTHING, including B&O, night vision, full leather, rear entertainment, etc. and paid $116,750. Plus taxes and fees that NJ charges. So before taxes etc. I saved $4300. Not sure if a good deal or not.

We were quoted about $3500 off of my wife's M4 with everything except Carbon Ceramic Brakes, she won't take it on the track , however, she now decided she wants special paint (Ruby Black Metallic) which adds $5k, so not sure what discount if any, will be due to this special order.

Rob, is so laid back, almost too laid back, that you won't feel any pressure - his wife has high powered job with Amazon and he sells cars just for fun. But Peter will get you whatever you need if he needs to call in favors.

Thank you so much for the info, beautiful car. I believe you did well. Ruby Black is one of my favorite colors. I believe there is 9% mark up on options, I am not sure if the same applies to special orders/individual colors. Please post pics when the beast arrives. Enjoy it in good health

Apparently my dealer is having a hard time getting an allocation - they put in an order are in a "holding" list. They are supposedly a very high-volume dealer for my area (Washington DC/Metro).

I guess there is a lot of demand? I'm in no rush but wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
