When she's clean...yes! Unfortunately where I live the roads are always filthy and the poor F30 gets covered in a few days. The manufacturers need to find away to coat the paint with some special non-sticky stuff to the dirt just falls off

I live on a new estate that's still being built so I know that feeling...my AW is filthy

Didn't Volvo unveil a new 4x4/crossover at Geneva with a paint job that repels dirt, a bit like this:

Mine are earmarked for Easter Weekend. I'll get them out this weekend and clean them, so I can apply Gtechniq during the week so they are ready to go on.

Surely putting them on this winter was a bit of a pointless exercise?

Maybe with hindsight - but you don't know that in advance do you ?
Anyway they offer advantages in colder wetter weather.

Yes but when you look at the winters for the last 20 years we've hardly had any standout ones.

Most winters I've gotten around happily in stuff like TVR's with summer tyres on. A 4wd saloon car should certainly cope!

I've averaged 1000 miles a week since September and not once has there being a day where I've thought, I wish I had 10% more grip here.

Really ?? I thought we'd had a few.
Anyway I don't want to fuel the debate yet again !
Its been done enough, just let people decide for themselves if they want to change for winter tyres etc.

Lol please not another thread on winter v summer tyres.

There is already a thread ignited on xdrive and summer winters lol.

Anyhow, it's a persons own choice to put winters on if they don't feel confident in themselves or the car

J/k.

EDIT: OPAP excellent looking car

Such a thing exists, and it's cheap & easy to apply: http://gtechniq.com/products/auto/pe...liquid-crystal

Admittedly the dirt doesn't quite fall off on it's own, but since i've applied all i need to do is snow foam & pressure rinse the car and it's completely clean! No scrubbing required.
