Apologies

Posts may be a bit random or ott tonight.

My car was bumped in the car park at work today and I am struggling to get over it

Culprit owned up, he was trying to squeeze into a too small space and managed to reverse into my car with sufficient force to crease the rear bumper on the horizontal top edge.

Yes he is insured and admitted liability ( bit hard when the car was parked and I wasn't in it to deny) which was decent, buts it's bright bloody blue, how the f*** can you not see it.

It still hurts.

Hugs.

That sucks, really crap, I worry about it most days.

I actually caught someone at work sitting on bonnet (leaning against) my last BMW (Le Mans Blue). Yeah violence in work place.

However on a bit of seeing good bit among the bad, he fessed up and sorted it.

Fair play to him for owning up. The first bit of damage is always the worst and it will soon be repaired and forgotten about. My car is going in next week for its second full rear bumper respray lol.

My 2 week old focus St was hit in sainsburys car park. They left details............that were a load of horseshit, obviously coz they were being watched and people thought they were "doing the right thing".

Grrrrr. Bloody car parks!

2 weeks ago someone eeversed in my front bumper and owned up. then i came back to my car last week to a creased door and knackered sill. £500 for bumper his insurance and £1700 for the door at my own cost as i dont know who did it.

i know how u must feel right now. but try and take some comfort in knowing it could be a heck of alot worse

hope its as good as new when done!!

I know, if anything I suppose it's a little reminder that things can happen, but I got off lightly.

Gutted for you and thanks, I am sure it will be as good as new.

Car is booked in for April the first ......

Went to insurance, their management company couldn't guarantee a bmw approved repairer, rang bmw, all sorted through AE

All I have to hope for now is that they have an m3 or m4 kicking around for the bank holiday weekend ....!!

I may have to ask Rick how he got his m5.

I feel your pain

I do however have an answer. I will give you a "counter worry" to get your mind off the car.....

I'm sorry to tell you this, but your wife was "hot" the other night.......

I'm more sorry to tell you the doctor just confirmed my sample was positive for gonorrhea....

Now.

Does that make you feel better?

Stop lying Nick. It's much worse. You have syphilis + the clap.

Poor bugger, both his car and wife are pretty well screwed!

So things have improved a bit

I have a new toothbrush for starters, I've told my brother in law not to impersonate the wife any more, although the dose could put him off, and tomorrow is car in for repair day.

My insurer's non fault outfit couldn't tell me whether the repair garages were bmw approved of not, so I rang bmw who put me through to AE.

I must confess, following ricks stint in a m5 I was angling for this and hoping they only had an i8 in stock.

No such luck. Thy offered a 530d, I said that could be a bit big what with the three pools and sun deck, and suggested I would put up with an m3. That didn't fly though so I ended up with a 330d msport vert, so as long as the repair takes more than two days I will have the vert for the bank holiday weekend I guess

Shame it's blowing a bloody gale!

Now back to my checklist for the garage

- no washing
- don't move the seat
- feel free to valet the interior
- did I mention no washing?
- please don't overspray the rest of the car
- definitely no launch control!

Did I miss anything?

I'd be concerned about giving the garage a checklist such as this. I can't help thinking it would encourage them to do some of the things you really don't want them to do. Like a red rag to a bull or a 'fragile' sticker to a baggage handler!

The past 2 times I have left my car at body shop I made sure;
- the bumper was coming off to be painted
-no wash or valet was written on the job sheet also putting a sign inside the car
-I took a picture of the mileage

That has worked for me so far and hopefully when I pick mine up tomorrow they have listened.
