Negative equity, an opportunity for someone

Anyone fancy a bargain F30?

My 318d Sport is now 2.5 years old and as much as I love it I need to move on as I'm extending my house (and my mortgage) so I need to save some pennies.

Problem is, I bought my car on a PCP not so long after the car was launched and the settlement figure is way too high, so the car is in negative equity and I'd have to keep the finance going another couple of years to get back into the black.

So, I can VT the car, or if someone will pay me enough to match the settlement figure (about £14,800 as it stands), they can grab themselves a great car for a reasonable price. The details are as follows:

- F30 BMW 318d Sport manual, Alpine White
- Aug 2012 '12' reg, 24500 miles, one owner (me) from new
- Manufacturer warranty and free servicing until early August (next service due June 15)
- 397 style 18" wheels
- Servotronic steering
- Sun protection windows

Condition is very good aside from scuffed alloys and the odd stone chip, and the car has never put a foot wrong mechanically.

I also have a set of steel wheels with Conti winter tyres, that have done about 9000 miles or so, which I can include in the deal or sell separately.

PM me if you are interested.

Have you considered on auto trader. Was in siimillar situation to you as wanted to trade up. Got a decent enough price through there which reduced the hit significantly.

Glws!!!

May well do, but wasn't sure what the deal is selling a car that has outstanding finance on it in a commercial sales site.

As you are in negative this must mean the car isn't worth the £14.800 finance settlement figure so why do you think someone will pay you £14,800 for it ?

They might not, in which case I'll VT it before its replacement arrives, but £14,800 is less than most adverts I've seen for similar cars so you never know...

I initially thought the same but he's only in negative equity based on what the dealer is offering and not what the car 'might' be worth on the open market because the dealers would need to make a profit on any subsequent sale.

Good luck selling it though mate, stick it on AT.

So long as you're open about is shouldn't be an issue. Just get the buyer to,pay off the finance direct using their debit card to BMW finance and then pay the rest to your bank account

Personally i was in negative equity to the tune of 3k using dealer trade in value and reduced this significantly by selling privately. Mind I did pay off the finance first

Like it's said above only in negative equity based on dealer offer.

+1

Buying soon after model launch can do this.

Settlement does not always equal value. In fact, it never does.

Nice car, Auto trader it, beware though youll get alot of nonsense calls. Ebay and Gumtree would be good at that SV too.
