meth or stage 2 fuel-it

Right now I have a decision....

Meth or stage 2 fuel it system...

I have the inline...and run about e60 without any issued

Should I keep the fueling the same and add meth to help with IAT especially since summer is approaching? I have an 07 AT 335i and do not have the oil cooler so my Temps see 240-260 when it's hot and getting on it a lot....

I think these are two separate items that don't really have any correlation to eachother. You already have an inline so what would be the benefit of going with a stage 2 fuel system when you just have a stage 1 turbo setup? You're limiting factor is air intake, not fueling.

I never suggest methanol injections for reasons you can read about in the thread below. If you are looking for lower IATs and not power, you can install the meth directly after the intercooler for the most effective atomization. I would invest in a pair of oil coolers instead.

I asked about the stage 2 to go with a higher e content even 100%.....but yes I definitely am looking to help keep IAT down...but I am just wondering if going 100% e85 or keeping IAT down is the next best route to go....

No significant gains for anything above E70 mentioned by many others on stock turbos. Also I beleive hpfp needs upgrade to go 100% e85.

Right now running full E85 or even E70 on RBs will require overdriving the HPFP (not ideal and not proven) or Port injection which on this platform is in its infancy and possess its own set of challenges,

meth injection will make the car more consistent especially in hot weather and the water component is a good safety system you can’t get with Ethanol.

Thanks! I think until I can get PI I will stick with meth for IAT reasons....and to not strain my HPFP with going too much E

RB's are not stock turbo's, they would technically be stock frame turbo's though.

oil coolers are overrated on this platform, if you have a JB4 you can run max cool mode and it will keep oil temps down more then any $1,500 oil cooler kit

I don't have an oil cooler and I live in SoCal... never saw temps above 240F

If a car is not tracked, you are right. Oil temps are not something to be worried about on a street car.

ER is the most popular, do you find yourself exceed 250F oil temps?

If so then you should get one for sure.

if you want 100% E85 you need PI with stage 3. I had stage 2 pump with stage 1 PI and fuel pressure started to dip (I am single so a lot more power). You may be able to get away with it on stock frames.

if just regular RB's then go 60% E85 stage 2 pump and meth with dual nozzle. If getting super RB's, EVO RB's, single or anything in the 600whp range go PI.

no way, my temps are at 180-190 in 112 degree summer heat...no way "max cool" mode will do that.

I don't get it...your temps are 180C or 180F?

Optimum oil temperature is between 194F to 212F (90-100C) unless you are running race specific oil that needs to be changes after every 12 hours of engine use, do you change your oil every 3-4 days?

you actually think the temp gauge in car is actually the temp of the oil in your pan? Its not, sensor is not in the hottest point. Been running it like this for 2+ years...If it was a issue I would have found out by now. Please don't say "the water won't boil off"....my abs hurt ab and I don't need to laugh right now. On a serious note, if your temp gauge says its 180-190 it is higher.

Not to get into a semantical debate about optimum oil temp but 210 is typically the "highest" point that most supercars and hyper cars run with their oil temps. Most synthetics start shearing after 215F. (depending on which specific brand and weight of course).

My z06 never gets above 180F on the factory oil cooler.

Btw RobC has some super duper oil cooler upgrades so that's why he can achieve about 180F which I think is a good place to be on the oil temp, personally.

A majority if not the only reason BMW runs higher oil temps is simply for emissions and pumping losses. The viscosity for most oils is pretty much the same throughout the normal spectrum of temperatures ranging from 120-200F.

The water comments are quite comical.

I must have a gallon of water in my 10 quart system if that's the case haha.
