PTF has been around for a while and there are lots of reviews of their very good work.

Don't think they offer a forum discount.

Thanks MDORPHN, yeah I've seen lots of good reviews hence why I want to use their service.

I remember seeing them offering a forum discount recently but it could've been on the other forum.

The posted a forum discount in one of the threads bringing the price to $199. I distinctly remember seeing it not that long ago.

Just throwing this out there-

BQ tuning by WedgePerformance is only $200 bucks...these guys do just as solid of work as PTF.

May want to look into them as well.

Everyone will have their own personal preference, I've used both (PTF and wedge) and I ran my best 1/4 time with wedge.

Pm me if you have any questions. $199 is the discount price. Btw we are the only licensed protuner. Wedge/BQ is an option however they are not licensed by Cobb to tune. Basically they are just enthusiasts

They do have the discount for all forum members and they will support you to death, unreal customer service. Go with PTF, I couldn't be happier with the tunes and service I got from these guys, best money ever spent on this car by far.

You just need to pick one and be willing to try new things if the tune is not meeting your expectations. I originally started out with Cobb then later Pro tuned by PTF with Jake. Jake was great always helpful and did his best but the car never really felt right and never performed well I could never really crack into the 11,s

My buddy on a JB4 G5 with minimal mods ran better than I did and ran 11's, so I finally took the leap after multiple track nights of him running faster times and traps. I switched to JB4 G5 and it worked amazingly with Terry's backend flash 11.8 constant runs FBO on stockers.

Then I tried Ken wedges tune with JB4 11.6 constant runs with the occasional 11.5 all on stock turbos yes I am auto.

Last time I ran into someone at the track with a PTF tune, was a 135 FBO he was barely doing 12.4s and best time was 12.2. He was not happy and we told him what we were running. He comes to this forums maybe if he sees this he will tell weather things have improved for him or he has moved on.

I am now testing MHD with Wedge/BQ flash FBO TFT inlets RB turbos, but I am testing it against The JB4 and Terry's MHD flash.

Moral go with what performs best for you. You can never go wrong with Terry's JB4 or Ken Wedge. Both are MHD flash capable and if you have an auto the MHD flash does wonders for the tune or it has for me.

I have only witnessed two Cobb cars tuned by PTF mine and the 135 that Brian runs and neither did well compared to what i have run afterwards with Ken and Terry.

This is just my story and it is probably chronicallized on here in my previous posts of my tunes and track nights if you care to look at my old posts, vids and track slips.

Cobb doesn't license tuners based on their skill set. It's more of a business decision.

Honestly if you haven't been tuned by Dzenno you haven't really been tuned PTF. The one or two things said bad about PTF ever were guys that didn't get Dzenno's tuning but others that were there before or were helping. This man works his butt off for us and I wouldn't want anyone else ever touching my N54.

The trend I see is the people jumping from PTF to Wedge are the most extreme enthusiasts who track their car and are looking to desperately shave that additional .1 or .2 off their 1/4. These same people aren't really looking to preserve the life of the stock snails and sooner or later are transitioning to aftermarket turbo setups. It's also fair to acknowledge that these same individuals are specifically requesting that Wedge make their maps mucho aggressive. I'm sure if you make the same request to PTF, they'd honor the request. After all, both tuners will work with you and your goals. As for the JB4/backend, it's definitely a stout contender to the ptf and wedge tunes on paper, however riding passenger on this setup left a bad taste in my mouth, there was noticeable amount of "jerkiness"... but that could have just been the car? It's the cheaper route and has 10x the amount of people using it, therefore defending it.. so I won't even try to go there.

I honestly can't recall reading about anyone on the forums that started with a custom flash tune by Wedge/BQ and later decided to go with PTF. The other way around is another story though.

I have several friends who went with PTF and were beyond satisfied. That's the route I plan on choosing.

I know of at least 4 guys personally that moved away from Wedge stuff to PTF and some others that started tinkering with things themselves as they really didn't like what they got from him so your point is? Some random dude on the forum tryin'a prove somethin'? Give me a break please.

In the near future, I am going to do a walnut blast. Should I do that first before doing a Protune?
