Another JDM challenger??
Probably another one of those what-ifs.
Would you knock this thing as well because it is strictly not a BMW? These cars are already said to be one of the best handling cars with an underpowered engine and not so sticky tires. What about a factory built 350hp/320tq turbo variant with reworked gear box, suspension, and aero. For me another potential go-fast toy! |

They aren't going to produce it. Just the accessories and suspension bits.
It's a pitty too. It would sell well. Sure it will cannibalize a bit of the WRX STi sales, but only in the canyon carver/2 seater segment. There are many people who want a sedan and live in the snow belt in US and Canada. I am too tall anyways. I fit great in the 2 series. BRZ/FRS/GT86 people will have to supercharge or turbo their cars aftermarket. |

Looks great. If it was slightly toned down. I test drove the FR-S and came away just how you'd imagine someone daily driving a 320hp e92 would feel... underwhelmed.
Sure it might be fun on the track, but on the streets, where most of my driving is, meh. This looks like it could be fun, but not for me. Maybe one day when I have enough money for a track toy and a daily driver.

Subaru and their concepts....remember the new gen WRX concept a couple of years ago? Totally unrelated to the Impreza? Then they kick us in the nuts and produce the Impreza-with-a-body kit 2014 WRX.

When did Subaru produce anything exciting since the 22B and the 2 Door STi?
In that era, 280hp STi used to be able to run heads with 375hp Ferrari 355 on the track and on the street. There is about 100hp difference but the STi was much lighter. After 20 years the F355 had been replaced by 458 which has at least 570hp and the STi is still stuck with 320hp. The power difference has grown to around 250hp. Also now the Ferrari actually weights less than the STi... Subaru are not even competing in the WRC anymore. Which other major international motorsports events do you see a factory backed Subaru competing in? Gone are the days when the brand was viewed being closely tied with motorsports and being exciting. |

Coming from this platform, the gt86 is lacking power, although it is a thrill to throw around in a corner. This STI version would definitely detract my interest from the M2.

The 2 series and all bmws with inline 4s or 6s just offer a little more leg room under the dash for both passenger. I loath cars with transverse V6 engines taking up all my leg room. I can just squeak, into the BRZ but it's cramped, I couldn't own one. |

I probably would of purchased a BRZ/FRS if it was turbo charged from the factory. Hope they do it someday as it would be a fun second or third car.

If they would put a S2000 engine in it and shave more weight off, I would probably buy one.
I would not want a turbo in this. This car has to be perfect in terms of feel and balance or I'd rather get a M2 or similar. |

For everyone else in here: the FRS is a maintenance nightmare. The spark plugs take 5 hours or more to do. You have to remove the exhaust manifold just to access them. This is according to the FSM. Also, Consumer Reports lists it as one of the least reliable sports cars. |
