MP Front splitter / rear diffuser

I have been kicking around the idea of the rear diffuser / front splitter.

I've been reading lots of threads about both of these options;

My main concerns are;

1) How much closer to the ground will the front splitter bring the car? I'm concerned about practicality.
2) Colour. My F30 is mineral grey, as I understand the parts are supplied matt black. I'm not sure which way to go, body colour or leave matt black. Any suggestions?
3) Side skirts, would front splitter / rear diffuser look odd without the side skirts?

(I've got the bootlid spoiler already, as I noticed that it's recommended to have if you go for the front splitter).

The agony of choice!

I have the front splitter and was a bit worried too but tbh I have only ever had one scrape over a kerb in front of a parking bay, other than that no issues

My driveway is very steep and uneven too.

That's good thanks, you have MG don't you? Did you have your parts colour coded? Do you think it would look odd without the side skirts? Cheers

No bothering with sides. I personally like it in black but can understand some like it body colour.

Tried to attach photo but no joy. Will do so later for you.

Thanks, that's very useful. Have you had any issues with the clearance? (I see you're xdrive but the ACS brings it down to sdrive or below doesn't it?)

Have the splitter, diffusor and skirts on mine. I did run for ages with just the skirts which looked fine, I had the other bits but I couldn't decide to fit or not.

Front splitter does cause me clearance issues, but nothing I am too bothered about. Tends to be speed bumps more than anything you have to take really really slow sometimes (like people think I'm letting them out of a junction at one near me).

I wouldn't worry about the side skirt issue, you have a dark ish car so it won't make any difference, and I don't think it'd matter even on a white car.

In terms of painting it's up to you, there are all sorts of schemes people have been doing, either leave them matt or get them painted. I left the splitter, diffusor and skirts in the matt black them come.

Nope, it's actually painted a satin black. Didn't want gloss but didn't want flat matt. I bought a £150 ebay one and in honesty I wouldn't do it again. Finish was lousy and fitment not great. I had it sanded down and painted properly. It was still cheaper than getting a genuine one but next time I'd do it differently as was a pain in arse to fit.

Have only had one problem so far with clearance and yes, I'm about same height as s-Drive with ACS springs. Will be getting lower on Thursday with RS kit so will need to make a conscious effort to avoid ramps!!

Diffuser will be ACS dark grey one for moment as got send wrong M Sport one and Lorcan bailed me out massively at last moment. Will make a decision on what to do once I've seen the ACS on in place (currently having my exhaust fitted this morning).

I have left them unpainted as I like the matt look, looks very good with MG. Easy to look after still.

IMO the side skirts are needed as the line of the lip follows the side skirts to the diffuser by design, I can post some pics if you wish

Have to say I'm not sure I think the front splitter looks as good without the sill extensions too.

My local dealer seems fond of this look as a lot of their demo cars have this look but as soon as you see one with the whole package then I think the whole lot looks head and shoulders better.

I have side sills to paint and fit but can't decide on the front splitter, but converses think that side sills without splitter looks ok! Not as good as with the splitter, but a lot less hassle!

I tend to think the side sills are a must with 20 inch wheels but I'm not sure about 19's. Suddenly the car looks under wheeled and needs those 20's (which even with PSS I'm not going to).

Bit late to the party but thought I'd throw my tuppence worth in

Got a 335xd with ACS springs. Not had any issues with clearance etc although has caused a few heart stopping moments - more psychological really. Worse speed humps I've seen are at sytners Oldbury but cleared them no problem

Painted the uprights on front splitter as it looks more integrated. Left the rear diffuser matte black and added black chrome trims
