I would appreciate you guys pressing the area around the dash central air vents to establish if it creaks. I'm having ongoing dash creaking issues and pressing on or around the central air vents and associated trim that runs accross the dash I get a small creaking noise. The dealer has attempted a fix by placing felt tape around the retaining clips which made it worse. I just need to establish if it's normal for this trim to make a noise when pushed. If you could also note down what trim you have please, mine is brushed aluminium with gloss black edging. Thanks

I had this on my F31, the dealer did exactly the same as what you've had done. When they did some checking afterwards the noise / creaks were still there. They tracked it down to the iDrive screen missing nearly all of its screws! They replaced all of the missing screws and the dash was creak and noise free.

Thanks, my idrive screen has been out as part of the attempted repair but is still creaky to the touch.

I've just had a look at the sheet that the dealer gave me with all of their work, they also felt taped around the idrive screen etc.
