3000K HID Fog Lights?
So I'm pondering the upgrade...
First I found this Techone kit on HT for $240: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1450429 After going back to the trusty HID Planet forums, I found that its not really worth its weight in ash. I've found a good kit from Xenon Depot: http://www.xenondepot.com/product.php?product_id=80 Only problem is that its 500 bucks. I had a Philips HID kit on my Integra and it worked flawlessly for 3 years. Well worth the $450 that I spent back then. This kit uses Philips Slim Gen 4 Ballasts, which as I see it are just a newer revision of the ballasts that I had, just more compact and better suited for outdoor mountings. I think for now, I'll just order some of the Crystal ION Yellow bulbs seen here, until I can collect enough money off of my money tree for the HID's.

You shop around HT too eh? I used to buy everything there when I had my previous hondas.
I think those kits will work great. I had experience with CATZ/McCollouch/Phillips. All of them worked flawlessly. Just don't get excessive high temp ones. They really won't match factory HID. Factory E90 HID seems rather white with yellow/blue hue, so get something around 4~5k. It'll match really good. 6~10k looks nice, but it will look out of place compared to our E90's HID color. As for Crystal ION, good choice. I was debating between ION yellows and JDM yellows, but found JDM yellows with more solid reviews. It seems ION yellows have problem burning out later down the road, so watch out.

now we're talking.
3000k hid's are the best functional hid mod u can do next to xenon headlights with projectors. im very against people who use 6000k for fogs thinking it looks cool or they can see better. the truth is u need a yellow color for fogs. 3000k gives you that. now all u need to worry about is blinding folks, but hey, atleast it would be functional... and please, only use them during rain or fog. |

The fact that "Honda" is in the first link raises all kinds of red flags.
Honda and ANY BMW in the same post is sacrilege. Any pics of how this turned out though? |

has no one tried the DIY of the HID fogs?
im very interested in doing this myself because i cant justify paying someone else top dollar to install a light bulb. if anyone is experienced with fog lights (or bmw lights in general), please post here for everyone to learn. |

Hello everyone.
i have a z3 1999 and i did convert both my low beams and fog lights. I did 3000k on fog and 6000k in headlights. Really nice result and im really happy. I bought both kit from www.xenonhidconversionkit.com. Both kit comes also with lifetime warranty. _________________ hid - hid kit - xenon lights |

Warning to all would be buyer:
According to my personal experience,I would avoid buying even a chewing gum from Xenon Planet, not a part, or a HID.Cheating, shady, arrogant lying company, with the cheapest quality chinese products on sale.I have all emails, and payment details to prove this all. They will delay handling all your complaint so finally you run out of paypal claim deadline.Save yourself a headache, and contact me for details. Oh, they are registered in Estonia,no phone number, no address.Scammers. |
