Chicago area dinan springs installation

Does anyone know a good shop that will install my Dinan springs, I keep getting some crazy estimates ranging from $500 to $950.

$500 seems reasonable for a qualified person to do it. The question would be what kind of quality do you expect for less?

it's a couple hours of work, special tools required, you need to let the suspension settle and do alignment. Personally I'm just doing it myself but if you need someone qualified my buddy is a master tech at bmw...

I thought about doing it myself, but my work and school schedule is killing me. Do you know how much your friend would charge?. When you mentioned the alignment, you mean the springs need time to settle before going in for alignment right?. Since you are doing it yourself, did you order the special tool needed? Or will you improvise with a spark plug socket?

I use a socket with a slot milled out of it but I think there were 2 more tools required... It's been a while since I looked at the service manual. And yes it takes a bit of time for the suspension to settle before getting the alignment.

$500 is pretty high. $950 is go fuck yourself high for an indy. I just got my springs done for $250 at a reputable shop in the San Francisco Bay Area. It took 2.5 hours.

BMW only charge couple hours of labor for it... I think they are 175 hr (my buddy a master foreman at BMW). Little shops around MA only charge 200... Takes they 1 to 1-1/2hr for my previous cars.

I got ticked off about the price quotes, I spent most of the day installing the springs myself. I have new tires coming in next week, once I get them, I will also get alignment, is there anything special about F30 alignment?, I usually go to sears auto, the main mechanic is really good.
