M3 with 8000 miles value?

Hi,

I just went into my local BMW dealer to look at part exchange on my car.

He's valued it at £37000!!!

Seeing as it is a fully loaded M3 with all extras bar the extended leather and sunroof this seems awfully low.

Has anyone else had any experience in selling their new model M3.
Not sure if I just try to sell privately as I have seen similar models advertised at just shy of £50,000.

Thanks for your help.

I had a 2014 335i. MSRP was 59k. I was having a lot of issues with it. I asked for a trade in appraisal. It had less than 6k on the odometer. They came back with 35k! Couldn't believe my hears. 40% drop in less than a year! Car was in perfect shape too. Not a scratch, chip or anything damage.

Take it to Carmax to get an appraisal. Then go to other dealers and have them compete.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they have carmax in the UK.

You should definitely sell private party.

I was looking to trade mine in for a smaller car as we have my wife's x4 to use.. Went to Audi they were going to give me £42500 px against a new TT... Took it to BMW and they offered £49000 against a new mini 210 ltd edition.. It was going to leave me with a short fall of £5000 to get rid of the M3... It is 10 month old 3000 on the clock and just does not getting used.. Just spent £600 on a full detail too... So if any one wants to buy get in touch ...

It was Coopers in Durham... But I have bought a lot of cars from them so I think that is why I got a good price from them...

Don't get me wrong I love the car... It just not getting used as much as it should... I work away from home for 6 month of the year so it sits for 6 month not doing anything, my wife will not drive it while I am away as she knows what I am like with it... And it just starting to bug me that I am paying all this money for a car just to sit there... I think my old head is starting to talk... Haha

Not that I don't enjoy it but more that I don't need it.

However, I have a 1M that I'm keeping as I believe it is much more fun for an occasional blast. Also, I must say that I think I preferred my old V8 M3 Saloon that I had in 2007. I just think the M3 has lost some of its fun, the new one is just too easy to drive and too fast.

Just my opinion obviously.

Dealers are an insult.
Depreciation is massive and has put me off ever buying a new car again.
Unless it's a keeper and you can stomach a £35k+ loss in just 3 years.

I will always buy 2-3 yr old cars now.

PCP's don't work for me either.....I like to own and not rent a car.
