Lightbulb 6 MT 1/4 mile times??? Thx

Can any and all owners with manuel 6-spd M4/M3's (stock or modded) please share their experiences and times at the drag strip?? I can't seem to find a single 6MT 1/4mile run anywhere by an owner. Whats the record for a 6MT? We should start a stick for this*

I made a 1/4 mile run in my 6MT. It's posted here somewhere. I messed up the run so no point in trying to dig it up.

I hope it wasn't the one run with a screwed up lauch and letting off before the traps one.. 12.8/109mph.... that's not even close to what the can/should do stock so I disregarded it... (unless you went back to the track another day to improve it!?) If so, I didn't see your other attempts?

And anyone drag raced or highway rolled a 6MT vs a DCT!? Thx again.

Yeah, that's the one. Haven't had a chance yet to go back for a do-over.

I did a 1/2 mile air strip event, but the other Dinan tune M4 (DCT car) was there on a different day. IIRC his best trap speed was 144.8 compared to my 144.5. Nevertheless, here's the link with videos of me going up against some other cars.

We both had the Dinan tune, otherwise stock. His car I think has more options so heavier I'm sure. Mine weighs 3460 or so dry.

I'm going tonight in a 6MT. Haven't been to a track since high school. 21 yrs ago... Super hot in Baltimore, so I figure this is the worst case scenario.

I'm not sure the best way to do it, drop the clutch, leave DCT on or take it off or what.

So which is it you have, 6MT or DCT ?

Just pulling your leg, I have to assume you meant DSC. And yes, you will do better times with DSC fully off.

Did you get the MT option where you can leave DCT on? How much did that cost?

From what I understand a MT car with a good launch and quick shifting can expect a ~12.3-12.4 @ 116-117mph tops stock.

OK. I'm not a good driver. I have not been to the track in 20-21 years. I was able to get my reaction time down to .21-.28 several times in a row. I was a hot day, as the pic's show.

6MT, M4 Every package except CCB, so not the lightest car.

Plus I forgot I had 2 cases of Fruit H2O in the trunk. Oops.

38 Lbs of air in the stock MPSS's (I should have let some out I suppose)

BMS Stage 1

93 pump fuel

Here's the best time, most others were 12.2-12.24, with a few 13's thrown in there for good measure.

My first was 14.5.

This run was done with JB4 map2, 93, ER downpipes and BMC filters installed. I was running Toyo Proxes R888 295/30/19 on the rear for this.

nice runs, i ran my s4 at cecil last fall and ran an 11.7 @ 118 so your car is capable of 11's with how it sits

i should have my 6mt car there a couple times this year as well

Wow, 11.6 with those mods on your 6-spd is pretty much inline with what the fastest DCT are doing with the same mods!! Good work, I think you have the 6-spd record (as no one's posting them really) so far I'ma run mine stock soon... then modded similar to yours and gun to be the first 10-sec 6-spd M4... (perhaps using a better tire + E85)

I'm going back next Friday.

I'd like to get in the 11's, where I should be.

For 6MT's to chime in.

I'm using factory Michelin PSS, what tire pressure should I be running, and what RPM's should I be launching at?
