VMR v810 19" Setup on Silver E92
Hi guys, I was researching about wheel fitment for my e92 and found e90post to be my most helpful resource. Because of that, I decided to join the forum and document my setup here . I will be posting before and after pictures of my upcoming setup.
Inspired by this thread, I decided to go with VMR v810s. --------------------------------------------------- SETUP Wheels and Tires VMR v810 Gunmetal in General G-MAX AS-03

Nice, I prefer the 18s but the 19s look pretty nice as well.
Here is my setup: 18x9.5et25 235/40-18 18x10et25 265/35-18 BC Coilovers

Learning Experience:
Visually inspect the powdercoating job before mounting them. I thought mine was great and the only problem was the powdercoating didn't reach inside the mounting holes very well. Now that I have removed them and put them back on 4-5 times (very carefully) they are chipping like crazy near the bolts. It is not just me either there are other VMR customers who complain about chipping paint/powdercoating.

And about the chipping - I definitely noticed that the paint didn't reach through the mounting holes. Do you know if VMR does anything about the issue? |

I had to roll my rears with this setup, but after putting rear camber on -3 there is no rubbing even with a full car.

Received the Wheels
Hi Guys,
Received the wheels today, will post pics of them on tomorrow after I wash the car. Attached some images for now. I also took pics of how far the powder coating reached into the mounting holes. The car is on the stock sport suspension with no spacers installed. I am thinking about skipping the lowering springs and installing lowering perches in the front instead. It seems the more practical option for me. |

Sorry for the delay, took some side pics.
First attachment is stock. Second attachment has 5mm spacer installed in the rear. Car is still on stock sport suspension, rear height looks good for me but front is too high. The third attachment is a top view of the rear, do you guys think I should do more than 5mm? Last edited by jcruz145; 05-06-2015 at 10:06 PM.. |

I think that rear shot is pretty flush. And I wouldn't worry too much about the paint in the mountin holes - with the lugs in you won't ever see that.

The problem isn't with whether or not you can see it. It's about it chipping prematurely.

Update
Hi guys, so it seems like with the stock sport suspension and 5mm spacer the rears rub when there's 2 passengers in the back. I also found out that the previous owner rolled the fenders in the rear. I'll test it more.

Why do some people prefer 18s? Do the 19s look too big, or does it have to do with ride comfort?

18s - Lighter can contribute to handling/acceleration) - Cheaper (wheels and tires) - Softer ride (taller sidewall tire) 19s - More aggressive/sporty looking - Stiffer ride. Many compare the ride of 18s with Runflats to 19s with Non-runflats

which is still a cast wheel....there is no advantage to paying more for a flow formed wheel, that's the scam of 2014-15. it's forged or cast. tired of these manufacturers doing this kind of stuff, then on top doing shoddy powdercoating.

Seriously I had more VMR wheels and other brand names wheels crack over the ebay wheels ive purchased over the years!! You know those random "CSL" wheels? Yeah made in china stuff like AG, VMR, LC, and every other cast wheel co claiming their products are any different then the 600$ 19" csl's out there. Props to ECS at least for being honest with the pricing on ALZOR wheels, which are exactly the same quality of most wheels these vendors toss at us for almost double..

Flow forming is a happy medium between cast and forged. Cheaper than a forged wheel but way stronger and lighter than a cast wheel. |

Lighter than a cast wheel yes, no proof on strength as we've already seen lots cracked and damaged already. There are some companies that actually make billet wheels, they def dont belong on BMW's but they have em!! lol
