Front plate and lower grill

Has anyone placed a front plate in the grill space below the mounting bar space? Seems it fits perfectly and would require no holes. Would it impair the breathing significantly?

Have you thought about double-sided sticky taping the plate to the front plate bar with a minimal frame to it? I choose not to run a front plate in my state, but am required to, and therefore need it on to pass inspection. This method is how I got my vehicle through the inspection process. Some dental floss and goo-gone when you want to remove it makes things as good as new.
