Stone Chip help
Seems these bumpers are prone to stone/rock/debris chips in the front. I'm thinking of getting the bumper painted but extra clear coat in the front? You think that would help for better protection?

There's plenty of options out there now, it's up to your budget and preference. I use Opticoat which will prevent most small problems but there are plenty of better routes which also cost a lot more. |

Don't do extra clear coat. It will chip and have big bumps afterwards. Repair the bumper cover to a new look and put a Clear Bra right the way. Many years later you can remove it and put a new one if it gets worn or old.

Good point. guess clear bra is the way to go. I have it on the Metal portion of the front, such as front of the hood, and fender.

Also, I can go through a regular carwash without getting those micro scratches. |

I have xpel ultimate as well. they are clearer and thinner than 3M clear bra. Althought they do their job, they are not entirely fool proof. they will still chip off if the rock is sharp enough. That said, i think its still worth the investment. Ive had it on 3 cars already.
