Leaking windshield fluid

Got the notification I was out of windshield fluid so I filled up at the gas station and by the time I got home it was empty. It started to leak on the floor from under the right splitter. Should I bring into BMW? Has this happened to anyone?

Absolutely, it's a maintenance issue and maintenance is free.

Windshield fluid is considered a consumable, and I do not believe it is covered. If you just rolled up and asked for gas, I don't think they'd give you that either.

Having said that, you're talking about a leak...which is covered by warranty, not maintenance, but should definitely be BMW's responsibility.

Definitely bring it to BMW. They can't ding you if your fluid reservoir is clearly leaking.

I guess I should've included that I have JB4 and downpipes and wouldn't want this to affect my warranty.

I remember reading somewhere here that long as it doesn't mess with what needs work, some BMW dealers wouldn't care less. Unless you did some aftermaket mod to squirt that fluid harder :3

Are you running your windshield washer fluid through the downpipes?

Tank leak or leak from the hose that connects to or leak from the pump connection to the tank... classic BMW problem... if it's like every other BMW remove front right wheel well and take a look at what's leaking... albeit if u have warranty, I would run to dealer asap.

Actually every time I have gone in for service they have refilled my washer fluid as part of the service. Then again, most dealerships I've had any car serviced at has done this free of charge. Not quite the same thing as asking for a gas fill up.
