Wow. I've been to Road America more than any other track and will be there again at the end of this month. That is one of 3 spots on the track where those kind of speeds can be hit. I lift at between 135 and 140 on that same straight depending on how clean my entrance was onto that long straight. Why do I lift? Because I'm going fast enough and turn 5 at the end demands some serious brakes to slow down. I will continue to lift after seeing this. Amazing that the driver just walked away.

Black Ferrari moved suddenly left for no apparent reason and without being situationally aware. I wonder what was his outcome in a gentleman's racing series such as this?

The driver would not walked away if it wasn't a car like Ferrari. Rigid cockpit to the protect the driver. The car infront was trying to block a pass, but the red car came on too quick. That was a shitty move and not called for, always let the faster car pass because if he can't get you this corner he will eventually.

This is why I started racing cars vs. superbikes. You have a better chance of walking away in a car crash...at least that's what a pro formula3 racer told me.

Not that impressive. A car with all four tires on the ground will come to a stop much faster than one that is flying in the air .

Wow. the second the front end came up a shiver went down my spine. That was intense. Really makes you see how such a little impact (Car to car) can affect you at 150mph.

Very very glad to hear driver is ok, impressive for Ferrari.

My guess is that the two tire sidewalls spinning in opposite direction came into contact lifting the red car sufficiently above ground for the airflow to send it airborne.

Exactly. You usually see more of these types of crashes in F1 with the open wheels.
