Tightening control arms unloaded = slow speed creaking over bumps

I recently installed suspension and tightened the front control arms without loading them (plan to fix this over the weekend) but I wanted to ask if anyone else has heard creaking noises when tightening up the front end control arms without loading them (jacking the steering knuckle up to normal ride height)

It'd make sense as the bushings would be tight when the wheels are at ~5 inches off the ground so under load they are being twisted. Noise also occurs when turning the wheel, checked torque and everything is tight.
