ECS Rotor / Hawk Pad Question
Hey guys,
So, I've had me ECS slotted rotors on all 4 corners of my car. I've had the fronts on only for a few months and the rears for about 9 months. The fronts have Hawk street performance pads and the rears have OEM BMW pads. I've noticed under hard braking, I'm getting a slight vibration in the brake pedal. I can tell the vibration is coming from the front brakes with the Hawk pads. I don't think it is a warped rotor as I don't feel it in the steering. It feels more like the pads really biting into the rotor. I've also noticed the fronts have already started to develop some grooves in the rotors. I'm just wondering is this normal because the Hawk pad is a lot harder compound than the OEM? Maybe I am just being paranoid lol. Thanks, John |

John, if you have the space available take the car out and re bed the pads. I've had some guys run into pad deposits with those pads causing mild vibrations in the past, re bedding typically cuts the deposits and makes everything happy again.
If that doesn't fix the problem, how many miles are on the current front suspension components? VERY often a vibration in the front end under braking is an early sign of wearing bushings and ball joints. -James |
