Urgent help! Radio won't turn off!!

(No longer urgent)

I just arrived to a meeting and parked my car. Radio won't turn off! The music is really loud and I can't turn down the volume or change station or anything! If I walk away with the key, will it eventually turn off??? I'm in a rush!

Wow! The robot apocalypse is upon us.

Best thing I could think of is to try and start the car and shut it down again

Tried that a few times. It stays on even when I walked away with the key.

This is yet another reason I do not like Comfort Access. When I remove the key from the vehicle I want it to be OFF!

I went back to my car and the radio was off. Turned the car on and all was back to normal! Freaky!

Had this happen with a non-iDrive radio but the sound was a deafening buzzing. Drove it to the dealership without pulling the fuse. Turned out to be the USB part of the radio, had to replace the whole radio under warranty. It happens enough they knew what it was when I rolled onto the service drive. Sometimes it stops on its own, sometimes not. It could happen again I'm guessing. Weird part is I wasn't listening to the radio and all was normal when I got out, it was doing this when I got back to the car after lunch. I'm going to love ripping all that useless audio crap outta there one of these days...

Next time it happens press the volume knob and keep it down for about 20 sec. The iDrive will reboot.

Interesting.... With keys off Radio remains ON for 15 min then shuts off.

If you lock the car it should shutdown
whether its from the door handle or the key fob.
