BMW PS + M3 Bits

I've got the BMW Performance Suspension which includes springs, shocks, struts, sway bar and the upper/lower mounting hardware. I also got strut mounts as well as front M3 control arms. My local indy has quoted me $1400 w/ alignment. Was just curious what you guys think of that price?

Huh? $1400 for labor if I'm reading that correct. That's insane. I did all that myself on jackstands in the driveway. In a weekend, taking my time, and I'm old.

Yep 1400 in labor. Man, you've got me thinking but I just don't have the right tools to do any of it.

Too bad you're so far away. I'd do it for $500 no problem. Here's a DIY for the M3 bits with the necessary tools. Not really hard at all. There's other DIY's for the shocks and struts too. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ghlight=shocks

With exception that steering rack removal is not needed and the suspension doesn't have to be loaded when removing parts. Also m3 control arm have spherical bushings so loading the suppenpension before tightening the bolt wouldn't make much difference either. On non m3 control arms yes, but on m3 no.

I didn't go through all that either but I just used that DIY as a reference for the OP to show that it's not that big of a deal to do it yourself and as a idea as to what tools he would need to start with.

If I had absolutely no way of installing myself and HAD to pay a shop I wouldn't pay more than $700-800 with alignment. A professional with tools can do all this in probably 5-6 hours.
