Stolen M4

So the dealer called me last Friday to say I should take delivery of my new MW M4 Coupe on Tuesday morning.
I was ectastic to say the least, those few remaining days seemed to go on forever even though it was the weekend.

I woke up on the Tuesday morning at 6.30am as I couldn't sleep with excitement.
Reminded me of being 6 years old on Christmas day.

However I get a phone call from the dealer at 8.30.......

They've lost the car somehow. Its not where they left it yesterday (monday) for the valet.

They then proceed to tell me that they have checked their CCTV and that there is a video of my car driving out of the dealerships at 12.30pm on the Monday afternoon but never coming back. This is in the middle of the day!!!

I wouldn't have been so upset had a tank driven through the dealers the night before, smashed the place to pieces and then proceeded to steal all the cars of value.
But this had happened in the middle of the day when people were all around watching.

Hasten to add, i was seriously pissed off. The dealer tells me they would check all their local branches to see whether someone had borrowed the car or if someone had taken the car home by "accident". The phone call ends and I just had to wait for an hour or so.

Another phone call an hour later, and it turns out that the original valet guy completed his work on the car and then hung the keys up in the box, ready for delivery the next day.
Supposedly another little thug of the same valet company had different ideas though, he thought it would be clever to go into the safety box where all the keys are being held. Take the keys to my car and disappear in it.

We then go into the dealers for a meeting at around 11.30 on the Tuesday.
The car was reported stolen and about 30 mins later, the police found it a few miles away from the dealers. Some damage apparent but they are not sure exactly what!

So its Thursday now and im still not sure which way this is going!!!

The Police have had to do lots of forensic tests on the car to pin it on the thief and then the dealers will have to check what damage has been done.

JUST WANT TO BE DRIVING MY M4!!!

You're not going to accept delivery of that one, right?

I 100% would refuse and ask for a new car. Bad way to start its life ,especially for something costing you so much money.. Surely you still have your cool off period to cancel the car?

Wow, I agree with everyone else and refuse to take delivery of this car. As much as it will pain you to wait for another M4 but at the end of the day this is your new baby and someone else has "ragged" her about before you

Of all the damage/issue/fault stories that appear on here with replies saying "demand a new car".....

This is the one that 100% deserves that response.

Do not touch it. Even if they tell you the damage is just a kerbed alloy. Brand new car or return your money and shop elsewhere.

Uh, wow. Don't take delivery of that car. Who KNOWS what it went through. I know you want your car but at this time..you don't want THAT one. Be respectful and professional with the dealership and they will work things out and get you into a new one with an even BETTER deal I'm sure. Just don't be mean about it!!!

Wont it be registered Stolen/Recovered on the insurance register? I wouldn't take delivery of that car. Id let the dealership deal with trying to shift a previously stolen car.

Yeah, the hyperbole is often really high here, but this is one case that without a doubt warrants a refuse delivery response, no matter how much you want your new M.

Thanks for the advice and sympathy guys. Dont want to name and shame tbh.

Update:
The little thug is denying all charges even though his prints are all over the car and he went missing from the dealership at exactly the same time as the car did.
Typical response in this day and age when you don't have to take responsibility for your actions when caught red handed.

The Valet company are going to buy the car and I will be getting a new car from BMW in September. Only another month to wait!!!!!

They are giving me a 320d tourer until mine arrives which isn't ideal but beggars cant be choosers.

However plus points are that im getting a 2016 M4 rather than a 2015 model.
The new car comes with online entertainment, high beam assist and rear parking camera on top of what i was supposed to be getting.

Lets hope lightening doesn't strike twice!!!

That's a sensible result......a month isn't too long in the grand scheme of things to get the right thing.

That is a result...even though this is a nasty experience a month isn't too bad when you consider the upgrade you're getting

Think you should name and shame the valet company. Then other customers can refuse to have their new car valeted by them

Disgraceful behaviour
