adjusting bc coilover

I don't have much experience adjusting ride height on coilovers. The front are pretty straight forward, but on the rear am i adjusting the spring perch and the shock?

If so am i turning the shock the same direction I'm turning the spring perch? I believe it was clockwise to raise it (correct me if I'm wrong).

I actually think it's opposite directions. The spring adjuster should be on top? If the spring adjuster is on top, then turning clockwise raises it and counter clockwise lowers. On the shock, turning clockwise should make shorten the body. That's how it is with the BC's on my other car. The shock should be threaded the same way as the front.

The spring collars for adjusting is on top. Raising the collar overall lowers the car correct? Lowering the collar (compressing the spring more) raises the car?

So right now I want to raise the car. So I should lower the collar?
Do I need to touch the shock any?

Yes, you would want the collar to be moving toward the spring so down, that would raise your car. You will need to adjust the shock to correct preload. If you raise the car and don't touch the shock, you will increase preload and your car may not raise up. The shock body needs to be set at the appropriate length for your ride height. So if the shock body isn't adjusted, it might be too short. Pretty much however much you adjust the spring collar, you will need to make the same adjustment on the shock to maintain the same preload.

Thanks! This is what I thought needed to be done. Made the adjustments yesterday and everything seems to be fine. Good to hear that what I did is what I was suppose to do lol

Anyone have any issue not being able to get the bolt off the lower rear shock? The bolt is turning but not coming off.

You need to hold the shock, there's a spot where you can put a wrench so it doesnt spin.

I don't believe there's any other trick to it, sounds like the threads are damaged. I'd probably just cut where the wrench goes. You're making me nervous, planning on doing my suspension in a week or two. lol
