Steering wheel jerks once when braking hard

I already replaced my upper and lower control arms with Meyle, as well as replaced my rotors and pads.

What else could be causing this?

If was considerably worse before I changed the control arms. Now it's only noticeable if you stab the brake pedal.

Whoever did the brake job did not do a good job. Double check all parts make sure all is properly installed.

Inspect visually for hub runout and bearings for free play when the car is of the ground.
If you wheels make different sounds when turning, let's say sounds differently when turning right compared with turning left, is quite possible to be a bearing.
When you are on the hwy press the brake pedal gently but stay on the gas and wait for the car to vibrate.
Drive like that for for a little bit and let it naturally slow down with out applying the brakes.
Let us know if the shake continues while the car is slowing down at speed you have not felt vibrations before.

I did the brakes.

I'm sure it's not the brakes. The wheel only shakes once when if hit the brakes hard, no continuing vibrations while slowing down.

I will inspect it today. Thank you.

More likely a brake problem if your tires, control arm bushing and alignments are good.

Thanks for your help guys.

It turns out that was caused by my wheel spacers. I actually forgot about them until I was remounting the tires after inspecting the wheel bearings. I remounted the wheels without them and problem solved!

Probably made out of soft aluminum and got deformed over time.

Problem is likely else where. You will have more problems than just a brake issue with defective spacers.

It was the spacers. The problem is gone.

lol. Maybe it was the extended lug bolts that came with the spacers. I put the OEM wheel bolts back in when I removed the spacers.
