Another Hawk HPS 5.0 Review
Just got these installed with Zimmerman rotors and Motul 5.1 fluid yesterday. Followed burnishing instructions as per Hawk.
As per other reviews I've read, a bit of initial bite from the OEM pads are lost, but braking feel is much more linear and confidence inspiring. As an added bonus, no more steering wheel vibration under braking as my old rotors were toast and all four had formed lips. No squealing so far and pads look like they're mating well to the rotors without abnormal grooves in other reviews I've seen. Still have some of the zinc coating left to wear off closer to the center of the rotor and will report back with a few more miles on the setup as I plan to do some bedding on the highway. |

Good review. I think a lot of people didn't like the initial bite of the oem pads. I prefer a linear feel myself.
The hawk 5.0 with the stainless steel lines really produces a nice linear feel and less squish in the pedal as you push. Nothing like good brakes! |

I agree Jeff - after about 75 miles or so with 10 more bedding runs from 60+mph, zinc coating has been wiped off the rotor surface where pads make contact. Still no squeal and consistent linear brake feel.
