Which brand of fuel runs best in the N54 downunder?

Hi all

Was wondering what the general consensus was about the best 98 fuel for the E90 335i is in Oz?

I usually run the BP 98, but occasionally (when feeling tight a**ed) I use the shell because of the petrol discount vouchers.

But I somehow never feel my car is as powerful or economical when I use the Shell.

Perhaps I'm imagining it? Given the number of electronics/fly-by-wire/temperature variations, I could be imagining it!

How's the Caltex? It's hard to find in Canberra, but if recommended, I could search for it. It used to be my fuel of choice for my CX7 and Lexus RX350...

cheers

Satz

BP 98 runs well stand alone without E85 blend out of them all plus I get Velocity points
Shell was good when I was driving a s15.
Caltex was good when I had a GSXR K8. Didn't like any other fuel.

Bit odd like that

No difference for my car as far as I can tell.

Mostly use either she'll or puma 98 these days as they are usually the cheapest.

When logging bp ultimate, caltex 98 and united 98 on a fbo rb 335 I found that bp ultimate had the cleanest timing corrections.

Definately cannot feel the difference.

Ive done many extensive tests with an E50 mix of E85 and BP Ultimate, United 98 etc etc, and my car seems to like the United 98 the best when mixed with E85..
Though you cant really go wrong with BP ultimate, its always a good go to fuel

I have used BP98 and had no problems. Might be switching to United to serve my ethanol blend requirements

I forgot about Mobil! Don't know if they're still in Canberra. The one near me became a 7-11 type station...

Sounds like BP 98 is pretty popular with most.

335i n54. I used bp98 and shell 98 for a fuel test to see the level of water in it.. bp98 surprisingly had a higher level of additives then the shell 98. Ran bp 98 for 4 years up until that point. Now shell 98 or mobil 98 all the way.

How to your logs look and on what tune, or type of turbos?

Saying that your car likes a certain fuel and makes it smooth is rubbish.

Post up some logs of any pump fuel vs another. I know for sure caltex 98 and united 98 had more timing corrections then bp ultimate.
