Does any one prefer 18" over 19"...
like the 18 inch rims for the m3 more than the chrome 19's?.. the 18s look so good with sparkling graphiteeee...

Sure don't like them in pics. Look like they're covered in brake dust and not nice proportions.

Up close and from a distance the 19s look much more brighter, bigger and look a lot more classy.
The 18s are honestly a tad small, there is a bit too much rubber around them, they look more 'utility like' in comparison. |

i ordered 18. i think dark colored rims look good with melbourn red (color i ordered). dark rim on silver is not bad either.
also, i will probably opt for aftermaket wheels at some point, so really no need to pay extra for the 19s. yes they will have better resale value, but i would rather save the money for now. also i believe there is a delay in production for cars with 19s. cheers! |

I actually really like the 18s and ordered them for my space gray. I think they look great, cheaper, and future tire purchases will be less as well.

I prefer the performance of 18's as opposed to 19's on a car this size. I have yet to see the wheels in person and am hopeful that I will like the look as well.

After seeing the US 18" versions, I will get them if I do a graphite sedan.
If I go with the space gray vert, will go 19" for the extra chome to go with the sills. Plus I feel the extra bling goes well with the vert. |

18s for me. I'll save the money and buy after market 19s for the track. Plus no production delay on the 18s.

yes, 18 inch wiegh less, faster, better ride, better handling, cheaper tires, more 18 inch track tires available.
19 inch is just for looks, for poseurs!

I would actually pay extra to have the 18" over the 19" so its a good job they come as standard!

I prefer the look of a 19" wheel, but not these 19's. Having said that, I prefer the 18's for their performance advantage and tire choices. So, I got the 18's on my sedan coming. I suspect that for "looks" I may be tempted to look for an aftermarket 19" wheel when the stock 18" tires wear out. This would also free up the 18" wheels to be mounted with proper track tires. Time will tell I guess.

The design on the 18s look much nicer to me, i wish they had the same design in a 19in rim.

I ordered 18's mostly due to the performance and tire choices.
Also, I was on the fence for a while and realized that if I was unsure I should save myself the 1200 and get the 18's... I actually like the sportier and more unique look of the darker wheels. Everyone is getting the 19's anyway... Jason

I couldn't decide which wheel I liked better. They both are not stunning wheels nor the type of wheels I would keep so I elected to save the $$$ and go with the 18s. Then seeing the 18s, they actually started to grow on me. But in the end, they are going out and I have an extra $1200 to spend on some other wheels.

I like the 18's but not sure I like the dark color - at least with Jet black.

I think I would use the 19's for street and the 18's for track. 18's are lighter and have better tire choices for track tires.

18s vs. 19s
Quote:
I wouldn't be too sure the 18" setup is lighter. The 18s are cast and 19s are forged. Ibet they are the same or the 19s are lighter.
