Just tried an iPhone 6s with my 2014 335i and here is my report.

I just received a iPhone 6s today and wanted to test it out in my car. After updating to the latest version of the os I went out to my car and paired it. The pairing went fine and I have both tele and media working. I proceeded to then slip it into the iPhone 6 snap in adapter and that also worked. I could see the phone in the media section as connected via the adapter and connected drive came up and worked. Carly for bmw was next and the iPhone 6s connected to the dongle and the carly app worked. Still no coding though;(. The BW drive analyzer worked also and was able to connect to the dongle and run through all the screens of the app. The iPhone 6s also connected fine with my Blackvue drw650g-2ch dash cam and my passport max2 radar sector. So my switch out from iPhone 6 to iPhone 6s was a success.

Only one hiccup though. The connected drive menu on the nav screen did not show the third party apps. If I run them from the iPhone directly they then start and connect to the car. I am still investigating a possible solution. Also the iPhone 6s fit in my twelve south bookbook fine so I am happy about that.

Just a quick update.
Cheers,
Chris

Did you first start the BMW Connected app on your phone?

Regarding connected drive wilt start 3rd party apps.

Just got off the phone with BMW genius and they are aware of this issue and are forwarding it to the developers to fix. They had the exact same issue last year with the iPhone 6.
Should have an update out in a couple of weeks.

Yes I did. I made sure that the app when not connected to the car could run each app because the first time the phone will ask you for permissions.
