Oz M2 goss

Talking to a dealership principal yesterday. He had just returned from Germany.

M2 will be out in Feb. it should be quicker than the M3 and M4 but likelihood is it will be detuned so as not to offend the big brothers. Take it to a tuner to remove that though....he said this would be a simple process.

Great info (although we could have assumed as much). Did he mean that details are coming out in Feb or they will be hitting the streets then?

How can it go on sale next month if they still haven't announced it yet...

Lol. The breathless ones on the U.S. forum were counting down to the unveiling not on sale date.

It would be very strange for BMW to announce a new car just a month after the Frankfurt motorshow.

Yeah I'm 1st on one of the dealerships and I was told Feb/March. I'm still undecided on the m2 or stretch the M3 in terms of value. Feeling a little underwhelmed with the engine(not bespoke and same as the X4), no CF roof and standard 2er seats. If it's priced at 115/120 it's a no brainer for me. Closer to 100k and that's a good 40k cheaper than M3 so M2 makes sense.

I don't get the CF roof thing. If it's just for bling fine. The M3 needed it, even with it it is over 1.5 tonne. The 2 series, yeah it's no spritely light thing, with all the electro-techno-matics cars have now. But off the bat it is lighter than a 3 series.

It's simple. They can do it so why not. It would look great. This is not a 1 year rush job like the 1M. BMW have had ample time to plan this car. At least make it an option same goes for seats. The seats look quite plain and very non M. Putting blue stitching and an M logo in the head rest just doesn't cut it especially when cars that are 40k have sportier seats

M2 is strongly rumoured to be released in some form in 2-3 weeks. there is already too many rants and opinion about what the M2 should be, M2 fails, 'I would not be interested if....' etc in the 2addicts and M2 forums. we don't need any here. buy it if you like it. look somewhere else if you don't. applies to all of us, including myself. just wait for the release or the official tease.

A bit annoying... must be price correcting for the M2.

Hmm. Yeah too late for me. Interesting given the weak AUD.
