335i New Battery required
Hi Guys
Think my car (2007 E92 335i) needs a new battery, it's struggling to start and the nice big yellow battery sign keeps popping up after leaving the key in for longer than 2 minutes when the car is off. I keep reading something about registering the new battery before installing? And it's best to just get the dealer to do it rather than local indi ? Also, Where is the best place to buy the required battery? I live in Sydney. Thanks in advance |

Go to Advan Performance, they have batteries there and will code them for you.
The warranty of the batteries they use is actually longer than Bosch warranty also. |

Brule, where did you purchase your battery ? I called the suggested shop and they quoted $435 fitted and coded I called Trivett BMW and got transferred to 5 different people before one guy quoted me an ambiguous $390 for the battery but couldn't give me a quote on install.. |

My battery way leaking battery acid into my tray
Bought a Bosch battery from here (I went to Frankston, VIC): http://www.independantbattery.com.au/contact-us/ They are the only distributor of Bosch batteries in Australia. You can use any brand obviously but I wanted a decent brand. They never answered emails so I had to call them up for enquiries. Cost me $260 if I remember correctly. Was a Bosch S5 battery but you can just pick anything that will physically fit. There are multiple tiedown points to fit different size batteries. I think most European batteries are the same shape. Fitted and registered it myself with INPA. I did not change the capacity or battery type so I didn't code it Waverly BMW quoted me $432.43 just for the battery itself

+1 DRJ that he did. I also got the same battery due $350 installed at battery works Dandenong. I know that doesn't help OP but battery world in Sydney should be able to supply and fit at good price

I bought a DIN 66 750CCA Varta Silver Dynamic from Matt at Online Batteries a while back for $235. It was special order but still a good price. I'd like to try the Bosch next though. Though, you'd still need to get the registering done. |

Any chance you know what exact battery you have Socket ?
Model and code number ? I'd like to just order it online because I'm basically at work 24/7 btw, your car looks awesome, especially after those LCI tails. I'm considering getting a set aswell ; ) |

I've had the Varta in my Audi, an F18 800CCA since Feb 2012 and it is still going strong. Its been deep cycled quite a bit so gets a beating. Maybe twenty times so seems bomb proof. Though takes quite a long time to charge it up fully but once there holds charge for a long time regardless of driving. It will usually still start my car at 11V. The other Varta we had was in our old Saab 9-3. It also took a beating as the battery sits next to the turbo so gets hot. Our Saab also had an electrical fault so it was forever going flat and a lot of short trips. It was still going strong a couple of years later though our model Saab was renowned for being hard on batteries. |
