Bilstein B8 rear shocks installation?
Hi guys, I bought Bilstein B8 for my E92 335i. I am gonna install it myself. Rear shocks comes with 3 piece (shock, washer and dust cover). I don't know where to attach the washer. I have mounting instruction, but it doesn't show the washer.

If I remember correctly the washer goes on top after the blue dust cover. You then insert the shock.

No, you guys are wrong. It goes shock > metal washer > THEN the dust boot. All the OEM stuff then gets stacked on top of the dust boot:
http://cart.bilsteinus.com/pdfs/E4-WM4-Y563A00.pdf The reason why the washer goes under the boot is to give it shape/support and keep it from deforming, etc. |

Regardless, make sure you get a pair of Monroe strut mate upper bushings if you don't want a bouncy rear

yes it is, one of the advantages of the bilstein is that the bumpstop is not exposed to the elements like the oem.
