Speculated US Options list/groups and pricing?
What do y'all think the Options Group/List pricing will be for the U.S.?
DCT/6mt - $3000 Power Seats - $500 Comfort Access - $375 Nav - $1000 or in a package Moonroof - $1000 or NC Ambient lighting upgrade - $300 HK Upgrade - $875 Cold Weather Package - $700 Drivers' nannies package - $1000 Rear Camera - $500 I've looked at the Swedish and German options list and extrapolated what might be available here. The pricing is a total guesstimate. What do you guys think?

I would guess power seats are standard in the US.
The greedy part of myself wants HK to be standard, as that's likely the only option I am going to take. |

The seat height was noticeably higher in the 1M with power seats. The 1M did NOT have a sunroof. I test drove a 228 and posted previously that those interested in tracking an M2 should probably make sure to get either one of the two.. power seats or a sunroof,,, but definitely not both. Even if no sunroof... the vehicle height is the same... (m2 is a hair lower than 1M ) and the seats look to bone nearly the same.. so trackmeisters should strongly consider no power seats. probably! 1M went from 48K to 55K. E9x M3 sedan began at 56K and E9x M3 coupe began at 59K So.. with the F80 M3 at 62K and F80 M4 at 64.5K respectively... i would bet that you are very close to spot on and if the base price is indeed 51K for then M2 then a manual maxes out at 58K and DCT at 61K. Still considering a couple of creature comforts - totally depends on how they are offered/packaged:
I'd like to keep the weight down as much as reasonably possible, but if PDC/rear camera and comfort access don't add much of any appreciable weight, they are pretty tempting Fingers crossed for an option for manual seats... I'll miss the seat heaters though!

I think it will be interesting to see what options they include as base for the US market, the only options I really want are DCT, HK sound and power seats (wife is 4'11 and I am 6' so power seat is essential for her). We have seen the M4 get additional base equipment like comfort access and HK sound so we will see.

I think all I would need is:
moonroof hk side/top cameras. I majored in parallel parking at OU, but a little insurance helps rearview camera split/fold rear seats heated seats/wheel wants: nav/multi-media. only want if it makes a diff storing/playing mp3. bt connectivity for Pandora etc ambient lighting upgrade dont care: comfort access app gimmicks active cruise Lane departure warning anyone else?

Major thing will be transmission. I love the DCT in my E92 "is" and felt it was perfect for the F80, but I am swinging toward manual if I go F87 (that or F80).
That said, LBB is pretty much the color I am shooting for. I have white now and I don't think the MG or SB do the car's lines justice: 6MT (DCT if the price works, but not necessary for the F87) Seat heaters Bluetooth Performance add-ons: Diffuser Boot lip Alcantara wheel Don't want anything on there unless it adds to the driving experience of the car. I might splurge for Nav since the stupid screen is there. I will miss the zero screen dashboard of my 335is... I do REALLY wish they had an option for 18 inch wheels. Have 19s on my current car and never doing that again, especially with DC roads... |

Here is my guess and keeping with the MSRP from my dream couple weeks back.
MSRP 51,895 Destination & Handling - $995 Nav - Standard Power Seats - Standard Comfort Access - Standard Ambient Lighting - Standard MT - $0 Moon-roof delete - $0 Driver Assistance Package Plus - $1650 DCT - $2,900 HK - $875 Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration - $350 Parking Assistant - $500 Heated Steering Wheel - $300 MSRP with all options added + D&H - $59,465 Edit: Heated seats will prob also be standard. So heated Steering wheel - $300

I'm an engineer so I'm afraid dreams just don't do it for me. I think it would be a bit more analytical to look at MSRP for currently available models in Germany and the UK versus the same US model and use the same scalar to predict US M2 pricing.
An M3 is $84,481 with VAT in the UK. In the US MSRP is $62,300. So a US M3 is .74 the MSRP of one in the UK. In the UK, an M2 with VAT will be $65,533. If that same ratio applies to the M2, then the MSRP will be $48,327. Haven't looked at other models or other countries and this sort of analysis calls for that. However, I think we have good reasons to be optimistic about the price. |

A few MSRP based numbers:
US M3 vs Swiss M3: .75 US M4 vs UK M4: .75 UK M2 vs UK M4: .75 UK 340i vs UK M4: .67 UK M235 vs UK M2: .82 US 340i vs US M4: .725 - Pick the one that makes the most sense to you and you can extrapolate from known UK M2 and US model prices. - Would not consider that M235 limited slip in the equation. Not a factory option. |

Kind of strange that no price or anything is available for the biggest market yet when pretty much the rest of the world can order already.
Many wise men at BMW HQ are probably calculating on the perfect starting price. |

Given what I've seen in other markets I think the closest we can get right now is the relative cost of an M235 to an M2. About a .82 difference. This would give us a US MSRP of $53,800. I wish we would see the US M2 being as good of a deal as what we get on M3's versus other markets (.75) but just don't think so. |
