Data logging

Hi,
since I do not have any software for my 335 except BMWhat app, and I read that many occasions that people recommend doing a logging when a problem occurs.
May I ask what software is best for me to do logging?

*I have got BMWhat app to read codes but it seems like logging is also needed to take a closer look to any issue, am I correct?
Thanks.
