N54 WR broken today

Hey guys. New N54 record is 10.81 @ 132mph, not much quicker, but quicker non the less. His 60ft can be improved so might see that drop to 10.6 - 10.7.

10.91 about a week ago, now a 10.81.

Agree - looking at the 60ft for both shows there can be further improvement as they are running 1.8s.

I assume the new WR is for auto as well?

Makes me wanna upgrade my hybrids and get into this 10sec club lol

mmmmmmm the only path I didn't really want to go down was PI (running 100% e85) I wonder if that will be what makes the difference getting into the 10s.

But I guess 1/4 miles is more than just about having the most powerful car, its also the delivery of power, traction and shifting.

I think for now ill just aim for low 11s and hope nizpro have a gearbox upgrade finalised that will help the car dip into 10s. I went to have a look at their shop a few weeks ago and the owner showed me an F6 which dropped 0.7 sec off its 1/4 with with identical power in both runs, however the lower time was with a stage 2 zf gearbox upgrade.

Also interesting no mention of LSD for the 135i unless i've missed it

Ah so it was a 135i with a carbon bonnet, well that kinda explains it, a noticeable amount lighter... Very good effort though, and im sure he can run it a little quicker with some tweaks

And your point is....?

Chalk n cheese comparison really one is a true dedicated performance car and one is a tarted up luxury car.

Nowadays a N54 is $30k and say $20-30k in mods shall potentially provide 10 sec 'street car'.

A late model GTR is still what $120k+?

These comparisons alwayd irk me a bit, we can break apart the costs as much as we want, import crew say the same shit about our cars, they can drop 5k on a 5k car with a 1jz and have a 10 sec/quicker car also. I think at the end of the day it comes down to what you'd rather be driving home in.

I know the e92 is one of the best looking cars around, still modern euro, still capable of being fast as fuck, still luxury and all of that is relatively cheap. Ontop of all that, a gtr and a 335 aren't supposed to be comparable in the first place.

Don't mean to sound like a c**t but I can't stand it when manufactures claim World Record, to be honest if it ain't on Guinness Book of Records it's not a WR
