2016 X1 Accessories?

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck ordering accessories for the F48. In specific, I am trying to purchase a phone adapter for the vehicle. The BMW websites does not list the F48 as an option for buying accessories.

Thanks,
Nick

Aren't the phone adapters ( as in cradles) pretty much standard across the range, and more dependent on what phone you have?

Talking about accessories...Is retractable rear side window sunblind an (dealer fittable) option? I can only see fixed/slot-in sunblinds in the accessories brochure.

After thinking about, I believe you are right. The loaner 228i we are currently driving has the same snap in adapter. So I doubt having a different vehicle would effect that adapter, just the phone.

Thanks for making me think logically.

iPhone can pair with the X1 via Bluetooth for both phone and music. You can leave the device in your pocket, which seems very convenient, plus you won't forget your phone when you exit the vehicle.

Is there any advantage to a BMW phone adapter cradle?
(Aside from charging the device of course.)

I recall the cradles, or a version of them, includes antenna attenuation via connection to the car's antennas. But you need to check this very carefully, and have it demonstrated in order to pay the asking price, IMHO.

I have a question about the folding mirrors on my new X1. I have the premium package and have the button on the inside of the door to fold in mirrors. The manual states the mirrors will fold in when locking the car. The remote does close the moonroof and windows upon locking but does not fold in the mirrors. Does anyone know how to do this? To those who already have their X1's, do your mirrors fold in when locking? I have a call into the dealership but haven't heard back from them. Thanks in advance.

Try holding down the lock button on your key fob a bit longer after you exit the vehicle. Does that work?

I don't have my X1 yet but I seem to recall other BMWs can be coded by a dealer to automatically fold the windows when the car is locked. Probably your dealer can do this for your X1 too (I don't know if there's a user-adjustable option in iDrive for this).

it can be coded to unfold when you unlock, fold when you lock.

Thank you ShinySteelRobot. I did hold down the lock button a bit longer and it did nothing. It did close windows and moonroof but it did not fold in mirrors. I am checking with my dealer to check on getting it coded.

Thank you nyalpine. I googled folding mirrors with remote and I read about coding. I just thought if the windows and moonroof closed the mirrors may be under the same code. I'll stop by the dealership and see what they say. Thanks for your time.

As others have said, holding the lock button on your fob folds the mirrors. But this is region specific and if yours doesn't, you'll have to ask your dealer to reprogram your fob.

No international shipping. Darn!

I'm going to be after a space saver wheel/tyre when mine arrives, and I don't wish to pay BMWAust spare parts prices, so I'm keen to identify a supplier who'll ship to Australia.
