Painted the Kidney grilles black over the weekend
I painted the kidney grilles over the weekend, and I'd already moded the lower grilles a while back. They were gutted and new mesh was added.
Hopefully it doesn't make it look ricey. Not a big fan of rice.

I tried to fight it, but apparently resistance was futile. Thanks and that looks nice!

Black Grills make it look deadly, not rice at all. What did you use to paint it? I have a black E92, and plasti dipped the front kidney grills for the longest time, but it looked too cheap and out of place, I like the look of yours though. I just ended up buying Gloss Black Grills for $60 and installed those. They are such a pain to take off.

Looks more aggressive, especially on the red. How long did this take and what kind of paint did you use. I was debating on buying new grilles but this may have changed my mind.

I took me less than an hour or two, but I had the sun to help dry the paint.

In my experience plasti dip paint has a softer finish. It won't rock chip as badly as plastic or metal paints. Either way it's a cheap, DIY alternative to buying new parts. Make you sure spray at least 3-4 thin coats and let each layer dry for 10-15mins.
