Electric water pump
I read that our car equip electric water pump and the it will continue to run for a while to circulate the coolant throughout the engine for cooling purpose after we shut down the car (that's why we don't need a turbo timer)
My question is, does anyone know how long will the water pump run after we shut down the car? I can't hear anything working after I shut down my car? I normally shut down the car after waiting for 1-2 mins, and prior shutting down the car, I will have around 5km driving not more than 3000rpm. Last edited by CYL; 11-01-2015 at 07:45 AM.. |

It only does so if it is required.
If you take your car out, run it real hard and get the engine hot - then it will run for a few minutes after turning the engine off. |
