Black box

What do you guys use for black box dash cam?

Recently i had my front bumper damaged at street parking. (Michigan usa) My car was parked on the side street and it was clearly a car in the front that damaged it.
(Bought the car only few months ago)

It was a big arse yukon xl with hitch thing in the bumper somehow she managed to park in between my car and other car. Such a compact space!

Police says that there is no evidence and witness that yukon damaged my car.
The yukon owner's insurance company, progressive, says the same thing even with photos provided. Wth

Lesson learned, if you accidently hit a car, then make sure that there is no witness and drive away. As long as you dont have damage or paint left over from the hit, they cant say sh!!t
Also dont drive a nice car to places where ppl dont care such as college town.

So now, i have to pay $500 deductible if i want to repair it.

Oh well damn... So back to the topic. Is there a good dash cam for around $50?
Perhaps the one can record front and rear.

Thanks!

I recently got this one from Amazon. It's pretty generic, but very good quality video. Friend of mine got it first and recommended it. I've used it a couple weeks and it's good for the price.

Black Box B40. There is a version with GPS too.

The first one I got had an issue with the camera and the picture was very blurry and unreadable. But the company sent me a replacement right away and the second one works great.

i was actually looking at the exact same thing!
i Couldn't find anything better at that price.
But one thing i'm curious is in parking mode, when someone walks in front of the camera and waves hand, does it record from right BEFORE someone walks in front of the camera, waving hand, and walking out of frame?

some cameras actually skips the waving hand part, only records the person walking off the frame.

i'll also be buying the hardwire kit so i can use it for parking mode.

looks like B40 is still a good choice.

Is it ok if i hardwire it to battery directly? the hardwire kit comes with a feature to prevent the battery drainage. Since hardwiring to battery means the dashcam is using car battery 24/7, im wondering if it'll have any effect on the performance of the battery in the future.

Take a look at www.blackboxmycar.com.

You can hardwire directly to the battery but I would advise against it. Numerous manufacturers make a hardwire kit that utilizes the fuse box. With the hardwire kit, you can set a time limit for recording or set a voltage level that'll turn off the blackbox to prevent complete battery discharge.
