Cup holder question

So my driver cup holder opens as usual but when fully opened it drops the actual holder down immediately or sometimes gets stuck. When it drops down it isn't smooth like the passenger one does. I know it's a small issue I was just wondering if there is a way to fix this or if anyone else has experienced it?

Lubricate the parts that move when the cut holder is extended out of the dash. I don't know what to recommend as far as a product goes, but you don't need a lot.
