Anyone else experiencing cold weather engine problems?
Northern California is finally seeing cold weather for the first time in like 27 years, and just today I noticed my car idling rough on startup the two times I drove. I hear it is usually an injector when the problem only manifests when cold. Morning drive, after a few miles car began to run normal, second drive was too short to allow car to really warm up, so inconclusive findings. Here's hoping I dont have to do an injector job.

Do you park your car in the garage or outside?
Mine is garaged and I haven't had any cold startup problems yet.

When's the last you had your plugs/ coils changed? I'll start by reading the codes. May point you in a good direction.
Though the car is tuned, I'm doubting the weather would throw it out of wack.

I do plugs/coils once a year, so those are all likely golden. Going to hook up the BT tomorrow and check codes. I am guessing injector, and just wanna find out which cylinder.

BTW, car is running VERY rich, so my guess is when down 1 or more injectors the computer compensates by asking for more fuel to the remaining good injectors. Watched my fuel needle drop a tick mark on a very short drive home from work.

Now weather can make a BMW act up, it happens. What did your BT tool say? I'm sure it's a misfire you'll have to treat with the basics; plugs/coils/injectors. Don't just straight to injectors. Don't worry about ur a/f ratio right now just pull codes and resolve the misfires. While ur at it take a look at the plugs you may be leaking fuel.

Bump. Having same issue. Codes show misfire on cylinders 1,2,3,4,6! Car runs great 95% of the time. Only runs rough on first startup in the morning when it's in the 50°s or lower outside.
