konbi remote coding anyone?
hi guys i changed my cluster with used one everything working fine just facing the following
1.amber dot 2. vin not matching 3.mileage if it can be done remotely can somepne help?

No. You cannot do this with coding.
You need to program EEPROM directly and make virgin so that new vin can be entered and odometer reset. There are many threads on this already. Search for 'M3 cluster replacement' - same procedure for E9X KOMBI swap. |

Can't be done remotely. I just retrofitted an M3 cluster.
You have to reprogram the EEPROM, which is pretty easy. Just change the VIN in the EEPROM to FF, write the EEPROM, install then code KOMBI via Expertmodus. Have to take the cluster apart, which isn't hard. No need to unsolder/solder if you buy a SOP 8 clip for ~$10. Yes, these can be programmed on board. Mileage only needs done if the cluster mileage is higher than your car's mileage. I didn't have to deal with that. I need to get around to doing the DIY; need to get screen shots off my other laptop. Though everyone says the info is online, it is a mix bag of info and there isn't a good all-in-one guide out there for doing this. Those places charging $400 for this "service" are straight up ripping people off. |
