Guess where I've been....
Hi
I had the pleasure of visiting the BMW factory in Munich- Germany last month and took the opportunity to have a look around the showroom and also took the tour of the factory itself. It was an absolute mind blowing experience to walk around the factory and seeing BMW's being made. The detail they go to both in the production cycle and the actual tour itself was unbelievable. The tour takes a couple of hours and you can get right up next to the production lines and see from the stages from the initial pressing of body panels to welding, painting, engine and parts installation to the final inspection before it is driven out of the factory. The BMW place I visited actually has a vehicle delivery section where people come from as far away as the USA to take delivery of their car that was manufactured across the road - cool or what!! I have included pictures of inside the BMW Weld showroom, the display cars and also the upstairs vehicle delivery area. The car and motor bike Tom Cruise used in his recent Mission Impossible move is on display also and I have some pictures of that too. The final picture is at BMW Paris showroom and I am inside the BMW 8 electric car - it is worth an absolute fortune. Hope you enjoy and if you get the chance to go to Munich, visit the BMW factory. I reserved my tickets online about 3 months out to ensure I could go - you can't get a ticket on the day (8 euros by the way as a cost) because it is soooooo popular. They also have some Rolls Royces on display - look good hey!!! :happy anim: Last edited by PerthBMW; 11-17-2015 at 02:39 AM.. |

Thanks for posting - pretty much a "must do" if you are in Munich for sure. I read somewhere that they actually wrecked several M3 in the making of the movie .... the one on display is one that survived the best.

Agree with above +1000
Was about to make a post of my own, just left Munich last week. Best part, you can hire ANY BMW from BMW Welt by the hour/for the day Hired a silver M4 for the day, drove from Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle for a day trip. Best bit was it was pretty much the same price as hiring an ecobox vomit-filled hire car, but instead I had a fresh silver M4 with 5000kms on the odometer. Insanely highly recommended. No restrictions on driving other than can't turn DSC etc off, and winter tires were limited to 240kmh You can even hire an i8 :O |

Hey
Yes there is a lot to do in Germany. I also went to the Oktoberfest in Munich and that was the best party I have ever been to. The tent I was in held 6,000 people and I have never seen so many push up bra's and big boobs in my life!!!! I also got a BMW that only had 430 KM's on the clock and drove from Munich to Nuremberg to Berlin. Nuremberg is a beautiful city and I am so gad I took the slight detour off the Autobahn to spend a few hours there. I visited the Nuremberg Castle which was built donkey's years ago and was spectacular to see. To drive on the Autobahn is a life altering experience. You may be able to make out in the picture the speedo is sitting just on 160KM/H - people were overtaking me!!! It is insane to think people were easily going 200 to 220KM/H and flying past you. You have to drive thinking way ahead of what's happening because you get from "A" to "B" very quickly at those speeds and with trucks and dikhead drivers just pulling out in front of you. If you ever get the chance, drive from Munich to Berlin with someone else's BMW and have the time of your life. Enjoy.... |
