Weird engine whine/whirring noise

Hi all-

Has anyone ever heard this noise (video attached) of an engine whine/whirring noise coming from behind the radio/center dash area?
I have had an indie shop take a look and they were not able to detect what the sound was, and now I just came from the dealer, and they weren't able to pin point it as well. Radio was disconnected to see if related to some kind of interference but no luck.

It seems to be related to acceleration and kicks in at higher revs, and seems to be much louder when the engine isnt warm.

Hoping someone has dealt with something similar to give me a starting point.

thanks

I have a similar problem. I had my transmission serviced(new filter, pan, oil) hoping to solve the problem, but it didn't work. The shop that did the work said the transmission looked fine.

It SOUNDS like an automatic transmission issue, but I also have a gentle whining sound coming from my car, which is a manual.

I recently made a post on your tread lol, but hopefully those general responses are wrong.

I have a slight whine in 1st and 2nd gear but then it goes away. I'm wondering if it's the torque converter.

I had the same issue, where it would whine/whir like that only under acceleration or heavy load. It turned out to be a pulley for me. Replaced the alternator and belt at the same time. No more whine though after that.

Ours is specifically under light load.

Op, does it happen like mine in neutral?

I know shit is spinning in the auto box anyway but it could rule out the diff?

I have a whirl sound when it's cold out below 60° when I take my foot off the gas and its coasting 2-3k rpm. I think more when going downhill. Goes away if I give it gas. Very faint sound.

But doesn't sound like that. I heard it in both my 07/08 both manual.
