I am trying to buy a sirius unit and they are all very expensive! They are selling on ebay but i do not know which one will fit on my e92 2008 328i prewired for sirius. Any idea how to know if the unit i see will fit my car?
Apart feom the unit what else do i need?

If the car has satellite prep already, it should have everything there. You just need the module and coding.

Waste of money.

If you want Sirius, just use the app and stream it from your phone to the car. Then you can pause, rewind, on-demand service, etc.

That said, if you want it for music, look elsewhere. I have Sirius for Howard Stern - if he doesn't renew his contract I'm dumping them (have been a customer since 2004).

Agreed with the above. Also, IMO Sirius/XM sound quality is absolutely trash. It sounds like MP3s encoded at 64kbps.

if you have pre-lci car and have preparation - you need special module which installed in trunk, there are plenty of them on ebay
latest is http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-1-3-5-6-...pWUhsn&vxp=mtr

^ This.

They keep mailing me special offers to turn it on, but I'm not paying for low-fi sound quality and incredibly annoying (and LOUD) station ID spots full of idiots screaming at me. If I wanted to hear that, I'd listen to regular FM radio.

I have a USB stick containing 2,000+ MP3s encoded at 320kbs, which I keep plugged into the jack in my console. I set iDrive to All Tracks > Random and the result is far more pleasing than any radio station.

I only use sirius IF i get a free subscription. It is an absolute waste of money for what they charge. Ask the dealer for free trials or go go siruis.com and sign up for the 2 month free trial.

I searched 65129192274 bmw on ebay when looking for the Sirius unit for my 08 E92.
Need to buy the mounting bracket and cooling fan if not included, purchased those from ECS tuning.
